The alignment of Pilates is a very important factor if you want to correct, improve and strengthen your body. This is why it is so important to do a 1:2:1 with your teacher before you attend their class otherwise you will not be able to follow the instructions given and will execute the exercises incorrectly. This in time will strengthen the body but it will be out of alignment and may cause further problems or even injuries.
If you have not done a Pilates class previously and are due to start one shortly and the teacher or fitness club has not told you to have a 1:2:1 then don’t attend that class, they obviously are not properly qualified to teach and should not be holding the classes!
